Frequently asked questions.

What kind of tree work do you do?

We handle everything from trimming and pruning to full removals, stump grinding, and storm cleanup.

Do you offer free quotes?

Yep - quotes are always free. Just fill out the form and we’ll schedule a time to come by and take a look in person.

Can you give me a quote based on photos alone?

Photos are helpful for context, but we always do an in-person visit. That way Jesse can assess tree health, access, terrain, power lines, nearby structures and more.

Do I need to be home when Jesse comes by?

That’s totally up to you. If you want to be there to walk through things or ask questions, you’re more than welcome. But it’s not required - just give us access and leave any notes in the form.

I‘m not sure what kind of tree work I need. Can you still help?

Of course. During the visit, Jesse will walk through your situation and recommend a safe, efficient, and cost-effective plan.

I’m outside of your usual service area - can you still help?

We’ve built relationships with some fantastic arborists across the province. If we can’t help directly, we’ll connect you with someone we trust. We don’t take referrals lightly - we only recommend folks we trust!

Will weather affect the timing of my job?

It might. Wind, heavy rain, and ice can make it unsafe to climb or use equipment. If the weather is not cooperating, we’ll reach out and rebook you as soon as it’s safe.

What if the tree is near power lines?

If power lines are involved, we may need to coordinate with Nova Scotia Power before starting - safety always comes first!

Are there limits with how high you can go?

Jesse and his team are trained and experienced in high climbs, but if a job calls for specialized equipment like a bucket truck, we’ll let you know during the quote visit.

Are you insured?

100% - fully insured and covered. We don’t take risks with safety or liability.

How long will it take to hear back after I request a quote?

We aim to respond within 1-2 business days. During peak season, it might take a little longer, but don’t worry - we haven’t forgotten about you!

Do I need to be home during the job?

Not unless you want to be. If we’ve already done a walkthrough and know how to access the yard, we’ll get it done safely and cleanly—no need to rearrange your day.

What happens to the wood after the job?

Totally your call. Some folks like to keep the wood for firewood or mulch. Just let us know what you’d prefer - we’re happy to stack it or haul it away!

How do I pay, and when is payment due?

After the job’s done, we’ll send an invoice. We accept Visa, Mastercard, e-transfer, cash, or cheque - whatever works best for you. We never ask for payment upfront. You’ll only be invoiced once the job is complete and everyone’s satisfied with the work.

What if the job is more than I can afford right now?

We get it - tree work can be a big investment. If cost is a concern, just let us know. Payment plans may be available for larger jobs, as long as they’re arranged in advance. We’re always open to having that conversation.

Do you work with landscapers or other contractors?

We sure do. If your project is part of a bigger job, we’re happy to coordinate with other pros to get it done right.

Is tree removal covered by homeowners insurance?

It depends on the reason for removal.

If a healthy tree falls due to a storm and damages a covered structure (like your home, garage, or fence), insurance may cover the cost of removal and repairs. However, if you’re removing a tree as preventative maintenance, or because it’s dead or leaning but hasn’t fallen, it’s usually not covered. It’s always a good idea to check with your insurance provider before scheduling work if you think it might be a claim-related removal.

Who is liable if a tree falls and damages property?

If a healthy tree falls due to a storm or “act of God,” the property owner where the damage occurs is usually responsible for their own repairs, even if the tree came from a neighbour’s yard.

However, if a tree was clearly dead, damaged, or neglected—and your neighbour had prior knowledge of the risk—they could be held liable. That’s why it’s so important to address hazardous trees before they become a problem.

If you’re unsure, Jesse can assess the condition and document any concerns for your peace of mind.
